The National Assembly of Côte d'Ivoire passed a new law on 20 June 2014 regulating the settlement of commercial disputes via mediation. The draft regulation was promoted by the Court of Arbitration of Côte d'Ivoire (CACI) with assistance from ITC under its Trade and Regional Integration Support Programme (PACIR), funded by the European Union.

"The scope of the provisions make this law a first in Western and Central Africa, and also one of the most modern in the world," said Jean-François Bourque, ITC’s Senior Advisor on Trade Law.
