Top executives from the trade support organizations (TPOs) of Australia, Botswana, Colombia, Finland, Malaysia and Uganda took part in an ITC organised workshop to discuss the results of the pilot application of a new TPO performance and benchmarking model of assessment.

The two day workshop, held on 24-25 November, was opened by ITC Executive Director, Patricia Francis. She thanked the participants for their active collaboration during the pilot stage and outlined the importance of benchmarking as a tool to increase the performance of TPOs and their ability to support businesses.

Many useful ideas came out of the roundtable with good suggestions on finalizing the model and the benchmarking process being taken on board by the ITC team, who plan to roll out the programme in 2012 and to present the Benchmarking System and Process to all TPOs during the TPO Conference in Kuala Lumpur in October 2012.
