The International Trade Centre (ITC) contributed with two side events to the discussions around a sustainable and inclusive recovery in the post-COVID-19 era at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, thereby focusing on gender and green competitiveness.

Building Back Better through Gender-Responsive Public Procurement

On 5 July, the Government of the Republic of South Africa, Women20, Women Entrepreneurs Act Initiative, and ITC co-organized a virtual side event on 'Building Back Better through Gender-Responsive Public Procurement’.

The event focused on leveraging the untapped potential for development of women’s participation in government contracts through sharing of country experiences, lessons learned, and practical recommendations for those interested in creating or upscaling gender-responsive public procurement initiatives.
