The Trade Support and Regional Integration Programme for the Côte d’Ivoire (PACIR) is ITC’s largest country-based programme. The objective of the programme is to strengthen the Ivorian economy with a view to facilitate the regional integration process of the Côte d’Ivoire as outlined in the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

The programme has four aims. They are the improvement of:

  • the overall business environment
  • the export competitiveness of Ivorian SMEs
  • trade facilitation
  • economic infrastructures, e.g. the Ivorian Chamber of Commerce, Port of San Pedro and Bouaké Market

After six months of suspension caused by political concerns, the programme was officially launched in Abidjan on 2 November 2011 under the leadership of the Ministry of African Integration and the European Union Delegation in Côte d’Ivoire. All stakeholders, including the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry and PACIR implementing agencies such as ITC, the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) were present.

To continue the progress in country, we are pleased to announce the opening of an office in Abidjan and the appointment of a National Coordinator, National Technical Adviser and a Programme Assistant to coordinate work in the country. The office can be found at;
