The 12th Ministerial Conference (MC12) of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the highest decision-making body of the organization, will take place from 30 November to 3 December in Geneva, Switzerland.

As trade ministers convene at the MC12 – virtually and physically, the International Trade Centre (ITC) will take this opportunity to rebuild its in-person multilateral relationships with member states, as well as sister agencies, after a two-year hiatus.

ITC will contribute to discussions around some key topics of the conference, namely gender and trade, development and trade, environment and trade, e-commerce, trade in services, and investment facilitation.

On women’s economic empowerment, ITC is committed to support the WTO to deliver on the Buenos Aires Declaration – a collective WTO initiative to increase the participation of women in trade. ITC will also advocate for bigger support for small businesses to go green.

In the margins of MC12, ITC will establish two new partnerships, with the International Chamber of Commerce and the Commonwealth Secretariat, to support a sustainable and inclusive recovery with combined expertise and efforts.

Full coverage will be available on our social media channels while MC12’s full programme, is available on WTO’s website.
