SME Competitiveness in Francophone Africa 2023: Building resilience to climate change

Approximately 70% of French-speaking African firms feel their business is at high risk from environmental threats, making prevention, preparedness and mitigation a priority. With more than 60% having no adaptation or mitigation measures in place, greater financial and technical support is needed to help them develop a climate strategy, according to this survey of 13 countries in French-speaking Africa.

The business survey, conducted by the International Trade Centre with the Permanent Conference of African and Francophone Consular Chambers, assesses the impact of environmental risks and analyses business practices to mitigate and adapt to these risks.
