Online trainings help Chinese companies keep a steady momentum during the pandemic.

Efforts to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and business support organizations in China build resilience against COVID-19 and its repercussions are in full swing. The latest is a series of online trainings that began last month and will continue in July.
The focus is on export management. The trainings will help stabilize small and medium businesses and enable them to maintain a steady economic momentum and eventually improve their competitiveness in international trade and investment.

It is the first time that the National Centre for Enterprise Management Development has organized these training webinars, which will serve to strengthen the internationalization of Chinese SMEs.

Created under the aegis of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), with the technical support of the International Trade Centre (ITC), the National Centre is promoting tools that help entrepreneurs and companies in China to stay strong by improving their competitiveness during this difficult time.

One thousand five hundred representatives from over 700 CCPIT sub-councils and branches as well as SMEs in China attended the first webinar. Between 17 June and 22 July, ITC, in partnership with CCPIT, is providing training sessions on ITC’s SME Competitiveness Outlook (SMECO), business support organizations benchmarking and performance improvement, and market analysis.

ITC and CCPIT are long-term partners, in support of the development of SMEs’ competitiveness and the promotion of south-south trade and investment. The online trainings are part of CCPIT and ITC’s series of measures to reduce the impact of the pandemic, through collaborative training and localizing the ITC’s training materials in China.
