Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and ITC Executive Director meet to discuss cooperation opportunities (en)

On 30 November, ITC welcomed Mr. Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, to the ITC offices in Geneva, Switzerland for discussions led by Ms. Patricia Francis, ITC Executive Director, which focused on identifying concrete opportunities in which the two organizations can work together.

It was discussed how online tools, such as those provided by ITC’s Trade Information Services, would be beneficial to the work of the Commonwealth and how working jointly on online tools may be of interest to both parties.  It was also discussed how the two organizations can best jointly serve LDCs and it was agreed that ITC and the Commonwealth’s Small States Office, based in Geneva, would move forward discussions about increased collaboration in the near future.
