SheTrades 2022: Postponement Notice

As we are committed to providing an exceptional and safe experience to all attendees, the 8th edition of ITC's SheTrades Global scheduled for 13 – 15 February 2022 at Expo 2020 in Dubai was postponed due to the global situation.  

The difficult decision was made after close consultations among ITC SheTrades, Dubai Industries and Exports, and associates around the world.

The International Trade Centre (ITC)’s SheTrades flagship event “SheTrades Global” is the premier global business event to connect women entrepreneurs whose businesses are export-ready with potential buyers, investors and partners. 

Previous editions of SheTrades Global, held in Ethiopia, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Brazil, Rwanda, Mexico, and China, included representatives from over 85 countries and generated over US$ 80 million of new business for women entrepreneurs.

SheTrades.com is a powerful free tool where you can join a global community of women entrepreneurs, business support organizations (BSOs), partners, and companies that are united in the goal of supporting women and communities along supply chains and promoting a fairer trade system for all. 

Members can access an array of user-friendly functionalities to grow their businesses. These include automated investor matchmaking that allows registered users to match with potential investors. With SheTrades.com, you can market, buy, and sell your products with 40,000 other members at the online SheTrades marketplace. Members will also have access to over 200 e-learning materials such as webinars, online courses and certificate programmes developed by industry experts at the virtual learning space. 

SheTrades.com offers access to quality gender-disaggregated policy data that enables informed business decisions through sophisticated features such as SheTrades Outlook.  All of these features and more are available at www.shetrades.com, as well as through our free mobile app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Powered by the International Trade Centre (ITC), ‪Ye! Community is a global platform supporting young entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to build impactful businesses and enhance economic development.

Ye! Community platform ITC
The Ye! Community platform support youth entrepreneurs to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Through the Ye! Community online platform, entrepreneurs up to 35 years of age can connect online and in-person with a network of peers as well as resources, tools, mentors, and opportunities. ‪Ye! has more than 30,000 members, including business support organizations, ecosystem enablers and financiers.

Ye! Community also has a network of communities called Ye! Chapters. These are local networks that provide peer support, access to capacity building, skills development, experts and opportunities for business partnership and expansion.‪

Ye! Community is open to all young entrepreneurs, and stakeholders, experts and organizations that support them. As a member, you can also access country guides and e-learning courses to help you build a sustainable business venture and scale internationally.

The Ye! Community for young entrepreneurs is a global community aimed at helping youth entrepreneurs to build scalable and sustainable businesses. Ye! Community provides access to a global network of youth, mentors, and ecosystem enablers, as well free access to start-up tools, country guides, resources, events, and business opportunities.

Activating green trade worldwide

The triple planetary crises of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, pollution and waste are impacting livelihoods around the world. Transitioning to a green and inclusive economy is the defining challenge of our time.   

Trade can make an important contribution to advancing the climate and environment agenda while contributing to the prosperity of poor and marginalized communities. 

Through GreenToCompete, ITC is reinforcing its commitment to trade that is climate resilient, fosters biodiversity and promotes production cycles that are truly circular. Through GreenToCompete, ITC is placing environmental sustainability at the heart of what ITC is and does.   

GreenToCompete works with stakeholders across international value chains and in the business and policy ecosystems. We provide capacity building, business tools, thought leadership and a global network to support small businesses gain a competitive advantage by “going green”. 

Our partner-led GreenToCompete Hubs support green transformation with a focus on national priorities and local ownership.

<p>Green2Compete is ITC&rsquo;s new and ambitious strategy aiming to place environmental sustainability at the heart of MSME competitiveness. Its goal is to enable MSMEs from developing countries to become more competitive through green production and trade.&nbsp;</p><p>In this context, Green2Compete will support ITC&apos;s ambition to deliver cutting-edge and innovative trade-related technical assistance and will develop ITC&apos;s positioning as a leading development partner in the green transition. It will also serve as an umbrella to ensure coherence among ITC&apos;s interventions in relation to the green transition.</p><p>This project will drive the implementation of the strategy along the following areas, namely: (1) establishment of a consistent corporate reporting mechanism,<span>&nbsp;</span>(2) mainstreaming of green competitiveness into ITC&rsquo;s work, (3) development of innovative, new tools and approaches enabling MSMEs and related multipliers to benefit from a green transition, (4) engagement in dialogues and provision of inputs for a mutually supportive trade and environment agenda, and (5) partnerships and outreach to achieve scale.</p><p>This project sets out a work plan for the first year of the strategy, keeping in mind the overall strategic ambition in the long-term.&nbsp;</p>

Overview

Collecting and analyzing gender-disaggregated data helps identify the challenges and opportunities for women in trade more easily. The tool collects data through institutions and is not a business survey.

This tool can be used to:

  • Map the environment for women in trade
  • Examine data gaps
  • Identify areas for potential inclusive policy reform
  • Share and learn from good practices across countries

SheTrades Outlook covers 83 indicators across 6 pillars, namely trade policy, business environment, legal and regulatory framework, access to finance, access to skills and work and society.
