Trade facilitation

    Overview

Trade facilitation works to make the business environment more conducive to the needs of the business community through the simplification, modernization, harmonization and automation of cross-border trade and transport procedures.

ITC’s Trade Facilitation programme empowers policymakers, border agencies, trade-support institutions, medium, small and micro businesses to work cohesively – through National Trade Facilitation Committees – towards a fair and inclusive border environment with transparent, predictable and efficient formalities.

With its innovative digital solutions, ITC’s Trade Facilitation programme helps reduce the burden of complying with border procedures while strengthening solidarity among border communities through eased cross-border trade relations.

This programme works at the intersection of major global priorities for sustainable development, including youth and women empowerment, green trade, food security, peace-building, digital trade and e-commerce.
