Gulnor Art, a socially responsible small enterprise that creates items using traditional hand embroidered cotton and silk, was one of 40 businesses in Uzbekistan given ITC training on how to use online channels to sell their goods internationally.

“This is a great programme for Central Asian producers, which offers comprehensive e- commerce learning and practical insights. We appreciate the significant opportunities that the programme gives us to expand our cross-border sales,” said Dilshod Kodirov, Gulnor Art’s business development manager.

The company provides jobs for women while preserving Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and history. In July 2021, Gulnor Art made its first sale to a customer based in the United States of America.

Gulnor Art received coaching and one-on-one advice from Muhammadali Kalonov, one of the eight advisors trained by the International Trade Centre’s EU-funded Ready4Trade Central Asia project that helped the company better define its digital strategy, improve its digital content, and identify how to best target international customers.

“Gulnor Art received tailored support from national and international experts. We look forward to explore more international marketplaces with Ready4Trade,” Kodirov said.

The company has now opened an eBay account featured on the eBay Central Asia hub.
