Enterprises from Eastern Europe to attend international food exhibition in the French capital.

(Geneva) – Thirty-two agro-processing companies from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine will be attending SIAL Paris, an international food exhibition, on 21-25 October, thanks to support from the International Trade Centre (ITC) and its partners.

The participating small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are beneficiaries of the Ready to Trade project, which is funded by the European Union’s EU4Business initiative.

Participation in SIAL will provide a unique opportunity for the participating companies to showcase their products, and build new networks with EU buyers and importers that will ultimately lead to business deals.

SIAL Paris is the largest international marketplace for food-service professionals. More than 7,000 French and international exhibitors from 109 countries display their foodstuffs at the event ranging from ingredients to processed products and fresh produce.

Attendance at SIAL Paris for the 32 MSMEs under the Ready to Trade project has been organized in close cooperation with local partners from the participating countries, including SME DNC, AzPromo, Enterprise Georgia, and Ukrainian Berries Association. In the run-up to the event, ITC and its partners have provided support on a range of issues, including training and coaching on engaging with potential customers, and design and development of booths and promotional materials.

ITC will also be supporting to eight companies from Ukraine to attend SIAL Paris under the Ukraine: Linking SMEs in the Fruit and Vegetables Industry to Global and Domestic Value Chains project, supported by the Government of Sweden.
